Honours probe chief to face MPs
« on: October 23, 2007, 07:08:56 AM »
Quote from: BBC Web Site
The police officer who led the inquiry into cash-for-honours allegations against political parties is to be questioned by MPs later.

Assistant Commissioner John Yates is likely to be asked why a 16-month inquiry did not result in any charges.

Yet more wasted public money – what really is the point in this then?  noooo:

Nobody has been found guilty (nor were they ever likely to be given who was involved) so why drag it all up and waste thousands upon thousands of Pounds over it?  Banghead

I heard mentioned on the news this morning that they were also going to look into the degree of cooperation between MP's and the police during the investigation. Including a rumour that Bliar threatened to resign if questioned by the fuzz.
