Britain "soft touch" for Islamist attackers: think-tank
« on: February 16, 2008, 08:43:12 AM »
I'm sure I posted this yeaterday but I can't find it...  confused2:

Quote from: Yahoo News
Britain is a "soft touch" for Islamist extremists who target the country's "fragmenting, post-Christian society," a respected think-tank warned Friday.

The country is crippled by a lack of cultural self-confidence, fuelled by "misplaced deference" to multi-culturalism that leaves it vulnerable to threats from home and abroad, said the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).

The government rejected the report, saying Britain has a "detailed and robust strategy for countering international terrorism."

But the think-tank, an internationally recognised authority on defence and security issues, called for a comprehensive rethink of security stategy including the creation of a new powerful cabinet committee.

I thought I’d posted yesterday that we should get a think-tank to sort out something that 95% of the population didn’t know already…

However, on British Forces Radio last night I listened intently to the guy that produced this report, a professor from the LSE. Oh fuck me, what a brilliant orator!

I’ve never heard such a brilliant speaker or anybody recently so heavily critical of the government. He basically came out and said that the past ten years have been devastating for the armed forces and they were now simply incapable of reacting to almost any unexpected threat.

He also stated that it was the government’s ‘multi cultural’ agenda that has significantly heightened the terrorist threat in the UK.

No wonder this isn’t headline news as it should be I couldn’t even find it on the BBC site.

Brilliant man, expect to find him dead under a tree having ‘taken his own life’ in the near future.

I heard some ex forces chappy on the radio today .... he came from the "Forces Institute" or some such. Very abrupt ex officer type talking complete sense about the under funding of the forces and shooting massive holes in the lies told to us by succesive governments .... It all started with Tom King MP and his called "peace dividend" when the USSR collapsed and we found all our missiles facing the "wrong way". "The Captain" on the radio was scathing in his attack on the MOD and the useless twats who set the rules and also had some pithy comments to make about conversations he has had in recent years with Blair and Brown on the subject. Basically he stated, without equivocation, that the pair of them are liars. Funny .... no writs have been issued so they must know that he is right and can prove it.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
