My PC engineer just came in to replace the motherboard on yet another blown up Dell Optiplex.

He left a little briefcase thingy called "Microsoft TechNetPlus" on it, without about 100 CDs inside. There is EVERYTHING that you could possibly ever need. What to do

Take it home with you and deny everything. Tell him, when he calls, that he probably put it on the top of his vehicle and drove off losing it at the first bend. Say that happens a lot, be solicitous, offer to "ask around" for him and he'll thank you for your concern.

It is a very useful toolkit, but most of it is never ever used. We used to9 subscribe to it but you spent all the time trying to work out what bits you really needed. You get all sorts of obscure software that most companies never have. Not something for the home-user but still quite nice.

Depends on your conscience - with what just happened to me I would probably have kept it or at least copied the sexier stuff.
Although saying that I do have just about every piece of software I could want.

I'd have to agree. We have the same thing delivered here and I can't honestly remember the last time we used it.

We used to get TechNetPlus – every month an envelope arrived full of new CDs which you had to swap out with the old version in the case…

I don’t ever remember getting a new disc and installing it – I certainly never got a disc labelled ‘New version of XP with no bugs’ or anything useful like that… I binned the whole thing in the end.
