Madame Tussauds has said it will not have a wax model of Prime Minster Gordon Brown after a public poll voted "overwhelmingly" against the move. More than 6,300 votes were cast in the week-long poll available both online and at the museum. Madame Tussauds said 84% of votes were against the waxwork. Madame Tussauds said it approached Mr Brown to sit for the model within six months, but did not get a response. Downing Street said he had more "important things to worry about". Of the 6,333 people who voted on whether Mr Brown should be cast in wax before he wins a General Election, 1,025 (16.2%) were in favour while 5,308 (83.8%) were against the proposal. Edward Fuller, general manager of Madame Tussauds London, said it launched the poll after daily visitor polls showed "lacklustre interest in seeing the PM". He (Gordon Brown) has more important things to be doing with his time, and the same goes for worrying about this poll A Downing Street spokesman He said: "The UK public simply don't want to see Gordon Brown in the attraction at the moment. "We will, therefore, not be creating his figure, although when an election is called we will make the elected PM - whoever that is, in line with our policy. "Mr Brown succeeded to the post mid-term and there was every chance he would call an early election. So we decided to wait." Responding to the poll's results a Downing Street Spokesman said: "As we made clear when Madame Tussauds originally approached us to ask if the PM would sit for them, he has more important things to be doing with his time, and the same goes for worrying about this poll." A special polling station was also put up in the museum When asked about why John Major, who also succeeded to office, found a place, the museum's spokesman Ben Lovett said: "The situation was different. "John Major became Prime Minister as a result of a party leadership contest and there was no debate about an immediate general election to affirm his position." The BBC understands the Tussauds poll was put up on the Conservative Party's blog, to which Mr Lovett said "the online vote reached a number of different forums and sites, and sparked interesting debate". "A significant portion of the voting also took place within Madame Tussauds... both international and domestic guests, from all kinds of different backgrounds, have been voting throughout the past week." Tony Blair's statue is on display at the museum along with other former prime ministers including Baroness Thatcher and Sir Winston Churchill.
