The All New Panorama Thread

Did anybody watch it the other night? Unbelievable!

Quote from: Panorama Web Site
Prisons Unlocked

Overcrowding in UK prisons is pushing unsuitable and dangerous criminals into low security open jails, according to prison and probation officers.

With the prison population at an all time high - over 90,000 inmates are currently locked up - the stark warning is that the public is being put at risk.

Colin Moses, of the Prison Officers Association has told a Panorama investigation: "The risk factor is massive".

Source & Watch

Quote from: Panorama Web Site
Panorama has discovered that over the last decade almost 14,000 prisoners left open jails without permission.

And they are not all inmates serving short sentences for minor offences.

The Government's own statistics reveal more than 130 murderers have gone on the run from the open estate in the last ten years.

WTF?  eeek:

I thought it was bad... but not this bad...  noooo:

And the quote from Jack Straw at the end of the show (he was too cowardly to appear in person).  noooo:

Jack Straw = Liar.  cussing:

If this is down to a lack of cash for prisons there is a simple solution to the problem. If you are caught pirating films/software etc you can be put in prison and given an unlimited fine. Why not use a similar system. Whack a large fine on to each conviction dependant on the crime. This could go a long way to funding more prison places.

Also when one of these scrotes absconds charge them say £200 per day they are at large and tack another year on per day until they are captured again.

Then stop making prisons these soft 'hotels' and make them somewhere that you would never want to end up, still give them the training and chances for rehabilitation but make sure that they are well aware of whar they will come back to if they break the law again.
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

What the fuck was that all about???  eeek:

Just watched last week's show (financial meltdown).

Was there really a need to have thirty actors mincing around in bowler hats to make the point that she show as about 'the city'?

Why have they employed that wank cameraman from Dragon's Den?

Whatever happened to factual reporting?

PS I understand the show tomorrow with D. Cameron should be good...

Very wise... they have Jane Corbin now...  noooo:

To be fair, they did predict the downfall of Bradford & Bingley a week before it actually happened...
