Microsoft has given yet another reprieve to its seasoned Windows XP operating system. The cut off date for PC makers to obtain licenses for the software was 31 January 2009.But now Microsoft has put in place a scheme that will allow the hardware firms to get hold of XP licences until 30 May 2009.
I give it until they release Windows 7 (aka Vista service pack 7)
Quote from: Grumpmeister on December 22, 2008, 04:14:55 PMI give it until they release Windows 7 (aka Vista service pack 7) I've got Vi$ta running on this new PC here in Epsom and I have to say it's been completely painless...I got an EasyTransfer cable from Amazon and it's been, well...easy...
I've got access to a copy of the mcse version of Vista. I'm kinda tempted to give it a trial for a couple of weeks to see if it is worth getting as the flash memory facility and DX10 are appealing to me.
Its just going through the hassle of reloading all of my kit onto the machine afterwards that I don't look forward to.
A lot of the stuff I use I had to get the specific Vista versions to replace though. Easytransfer isnt going to be much good BM.
