Their stand against all the pressure to broadcast the Charity Appeal on behalf of charities claiming to want the money to aid residents of the Gaza Strip has, in my opinion, be correct. We do not know where the money will end up (other than ensuring that the Directors of Oxfam et al continue to draw huge salaries and benefits) but you can take a safe bet that some of it will end up buying yet more weapons. Hammas have already said the they and only they will control the distribution of aid.

AND now Sky have come to the same conclusion.

The thing that pissed me off most about it to piss evaporation stage was some snivelling government minister saying the BBC should show it (what the fuck has it got to do with you?) and that "the government had already given twenty-five million Pounds to gaza"...  

No, you've given them twenty five million Pounds of our money without even asking us and now you want an appeal so the population can shell out even more you bastard!

I'm in 2 minds here. On the one hand I agree with what you have said but on the other, regardless of where you srand in the conflict Hamas will now use the 'humanitarian crisis' to boost their recruitement massively. After all to the people who are angry about losing loved ones in the Israeli bombardments, if they put the right spin on the whole thing, Hamas could be the answer for them and the whole thing keeps on going.

If we are going to give foreign aid to Gaza then we need to be able to tell Hamas to f**k off and distribute it independantly of them.
