Virtual government
« on: March 19, 2009, 12:32:01 PM »
I have no experience with 'Second Life' but recent experience has shown me that the DWP has money to burn.

EG: Hiring the NEC and posh hotels for interviews.

The interesting part of the article for me is the last paragraph : "About 15 million people have joined Second Life, although the number of active users is thought to be in the hundreds of thousands."

Does the board believe this is a waste of taxpayers money?

What has this Government ever done that wasn't a waste of money.

Loosely on topic I received an invitation to join the University of the Third Age this morning ~ they are an odd bunch.

Maybe they thought the saw a kindred spirit hound.  whistle:

Getting back on thread for a moment a part of me can see some logic behind creating a virtual environment for meetings that the public can attend as it would allow a larger proportion of people as those who would normally not be able to get to the meeting could just dial in. But for crying out loud, why a sodding GAME??  Banghead

I wonder how long it will be before we see cyber Fawkes
