They are, I guess, in their late 40s and have two boys. One has just finished A levels, the other GCSEs.

They announce they are selling the house.

'We are emigrating. We like Canada. More space. Better quality of life. Better education. Older Boy will go to University of Toronto, other will do the IB he would have done here anyway and then go to University.'

Have bought a house with lake frontage and have jobs. He is a surveyor, she a nurse. Company cars, the lot. All organised.

'A bit late to do it, but we are SICK of this country, this effing Government, the cost of university tuition, the hassle, the interference, everything. We will never come back.'
