Dick is acceptable terminology

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1215641/Spotted-Dick-menu-U-turn-council-bosses-renamed-Spotted-Richard.html

Spotted Dick is back on the menu of a council canteen - after a decision to re-name it Spotted Richard was scrapped.
Straight-laced council bosses did an about-turn about changing the name of the steaming pudding after being accused of taking political correctness too far.

However council workers at Flintshire will be refused meals if they continue to make 'childish or rude jokes' about Spotted Dick.
Canteen staff had been ordered to turn Dick into Richard three weeks ago after sniggers by cust noooo:omers.
Diners in the canteen at Flintshire County Council offices in Mold, North Wales, were told the name of traditional British favourite put was changed because it was 'offensive'.

Those poor canteen staff having to put up with silly people sniggering when they ordered some Spotted Dick at lunchtimes  happy001

Mind you can I have a portion of Spotted Richard just doesn't have the same ring about it  noooo:

I hate to tell you Miss D, but there is already a thread on this in the restaurant whistle:
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

A pal, in an overnight email, referred me to this piece of nonsense.

Oh my iTunes has gone crazy for political correctness - look what I found while looking at nursery rhymes for my daughter - songs with offensive words in their titles!

I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
