They do many other things beside rodent control ................. However I have seen the ultimate mousetrap in operation.
Designed to prevent rodent carcasses from rotting in some forgotten corner of food processing premises they came up with a clear plastic box that is placed on the mouse trail (mice being creatures of habit always follow the same paths) and when the rodent enters the box it shuts behind it. Nothing new so far but this gadget sends a radio signal to the control room and an operative is sent to pick up the mouse, still alive, in the box, leaving another box, baited, in its place. The live mouse is then transported to the control lab in Surrey where it is "humanely" gassed under the supervision of a vet ~ A sort of "Extraordinary Rendition" for mice. Very expensive and loved by all the bunny huggers that inhabit that parallel universe of theirs. M&S, Sainsbugs, Tesco et al use these.
