Well yes, that is the only other solution of course, and one I'd willingly endorse if everything else fails.
However, I like to think I'm a caring person and would rather my idea was tried first.

How many more billions of pounds are going to wasted on detection, conviction and bloody government initiatives.
This problem will NEVER end, and many more drug related crimes leading to untold misery WILL continue until the most drastic and draconian action is taken.
Any one in power got the balls for it please?  noooo:

Well I'm going to be asking some heavy questions this coming election campaign.
Can you just imagine how quickly the national debt for ALL of us could be reduced if swinghing ....is that a proper werd....action is taken?

This need someone to promote this radical action to those tossers in power, whoever they are.
It all makes such good sense to me, and the drawbacks that Snoops mentioned would be an obstacle that could be overcome, I'm sure.
Compared to the ever increasing monster problem and ongoing misery it's causing, it's absolutely nowt.

Agreed...

Also, getting rid of most of the 646 (preferably by hanging them) would reduce the national debt significantly too...  eveilgrin:

The downside to your plan is that drugs kill people and their rellies would want to sue the doctor who prescribed them. So where do we find Doctors, who take an oath to preserve life, willing to sign prescriptions that will ultimately lead to the death of the patient?
I agree that making drugs legal could lead to a drop in criminal activity that exists only to feed a drug addiction but I don't think solving the problem is that easy.

Arguably you can say that about a lot of prescribed medicine these days. How many people are prescribed drug a for whatever condition they have and then drug b to counteract the side effects of drug a and then drug c to counteract the side effects of drug b and so on. on the other hand if it is legalised, regulated and taxed then you have a chance of developing safer versions that aren't cut with whatever crap the dealer has had lying around at the time.

Initially I'd make it the standard penalty for those scum dealing outside or near schools and see how it went from there.
