My youngest daughter has retaken her exams and has been graded u she will not read this but I am so proud of her she is such a bright young thing, delightful to be with and stunning in so many ways she is not academic, she is being made to feel stupid by her father and stepmother because she will not be going to uni.  I am in a fury about it. cussing: cussing: Banghead

Poor girl......like Uni really is the be all and end all  Banghead

I hope her strong character will enable her to stand up for herself and ensure those that are making her feel inadequate see the light of day fairly soon  evil:

Have just had a very tearful conversation with her, you are right Miss D uni is not the be all and end all of things, her dad didn't go and stepmother did so a bit of power play going on me thinks.  When you think step mum think scout leader and magistrate she will not allow my ex to have sky sport. She once told me how to sew name tags into school uniforms. ::) Despite this she is basically a good woman.

She does not live with me she is 19 I have made it clear time and time again that there will always be a place for her here, they have far more money than I do and to be honest that plays a part, so I can see her dilemma, stay be pushed, and be fairly comfortable, come to me and fledge the nest. Told her that when I had two children under the age of three I walked into an employment agency and told them I could do their job they employed me. She can do anything. I love her to bits and she really is a lovely person in her own right, unlike daughter 2, different story don't get me started.  eveilgrin: She is feeling sorry for herself right now and  I really want to hug her and make it better but when I was her age I had left home and was fending for myself

Sorry guys rant over.

I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

Dear Miss C - you are doing your best , you can do no more.

I know she is feeling low right now but she has support if she wants it and knows she can stay with you if it gets too difficult at home. I accept these  are tough choices but this is the stuff that defines you as a person ( not frickin Uni) .

Aplogies for me ranting at that odd ball idiot twerp Nick on your serious thread.  redface:
He winds me up though. Banghead.

Can't you get her over to stay at yours for the weekend or summat, and have a girlies day/night out somewhere?
Plenty of wummanly gassing and stuff might make you both feel loads betterer like?

She sound a luvlee girl that you are obviously very very fond of, and I feel sad for you.
