This makes me feel good
« on: March 18, 2010, 04:11:56 PM »
Unlike members of other sites I don't slag off overweight people because I know there are often reasons why people are overweight and it isn't simply a case of don't eat so much, avoid McDonalds and take more exercise. I know too that overweight people are liable to die earlier from diabetes, heart problems etc but I also know that sometimes the reason for a person being overweight is that they have heart problems that prevent exercise. Both Type 2 (late onset) diabetes and heart problems can, as in my case, be inherited. The combination of a lack of ability to exercise off excess weight and the requirement to ensure an adequate level of carbohydrates to maintain blood sugars is a difficult one to combat. Particularly as I know how slim and fit I once was .... the weight arrived after the heart attacks and then the diabetes added to it. Quite the reverse of the "simple explanation" offered by the ignorant.

Of course sometimes the boring diet regime can really get me down but then something like this comes along and I feel soooooooooooo much better.
