Typical Bloody Daily Mail and Greedy MPs
« on: May 31, 2010, 04:01:59 PM »
Not content with trying to sell us to the Nazis before and during WWII the Daily Mail will stoop to any lengths to have a go at the Royal family.
Combining forces with some of those well known pillars of financial rectitude AKA our Elected Members of Parliament they now want to force The Queen to "open her books to public examination".
Hasn't the poor woman done enough for them?

They should remember that it is "Her Majesty's  Revenue and Customs" NOT theirs.

Read the story and you'll see it is one loud mouthed jock MP and the Daily Hatemail stirring again.

Of course the BBC News has picked it up and is running with it as if the whole country was in revolt.
Two good points made by respondents to the article
Quote
Mr Davidson paid £5,500 to a family friend to renovate his flat on expenses,In the four years to the end of 2007-08 he claimed £87,699, only £30 below the maximum permitted,He did not pay his council tax and tried to claim it including £65 in court costs, He also billed the taxpayer for more than £11,000 to move flat.

Speaking out: Ian Davidson MP for Glasgow South West has called for more transparency in the royal finances

I call for Mr Davidson to follow his own advice. I'm not a monarchist, but even I can add up the following. Queen costs the average tax payer 69p per year. Scotland costs every English man and woman £5,000+ per year.
Now, let's talk about value for money, shall we?
