Awesome post over at The Moose...

The Con-Dems have been in power for what, six months now? What have they achieved? In my opinion, nothing. When they first came in they gave us a biggy to sweeten the deal and scrapped ID cards.

That was nice, but that was only one of many many things they needed to do but haven't even begun yet. How hard can it be to show some leadership and take some direct action?

Take the students for example. How hard can it be to say to the students, this is not your money your are demanding. When you have completed your course you will be on a good wage and will be able to pay for your tuition. Other people who are probably earning less than you will be, should not have to pay for you.

Instead of being unpopular and doing what must be done they hit the easy targets instead.

Making Falmouth MRCC a part time station is sheer bloody stupidity, I lived in Falmouth when I was younger and knew enough people who worked there to see just how important a job they did. Yes another station can take over the role but that means hugely increasing their area of operations.  Banghead

The Coast Guard Service is one of those few services that we should never reduce.

We could however manage with half as many MPs in Parliament. Start by culling those from Scottish, Welsh and NI constituencies for a start ... they have their own Parliaments anyway so why should they have a say in what happens in England as well.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
