Sensitive hearing?

Do yer ears become more sensitive when you get older like?

I've noticed over the last few years that I absolutely CANNOT bare to be within chucking something hard and heavy or slapping distance of a high pitched screaming sprog/sproglet, especially the even higher pitched girlie variety ones. evil:

It's like someone is stabbing me in the 'ed when these creatures kick off at 3000db. cussing:
Happened on Sunday and I had to put me paws over me ears quick like before me 'ed exploded.

With age your hearing normally deteriorates ~ however your intolerance levels most certainly rise. I find that, like you, noises that I could ignore when I was 20/30/40 now drive me to distraction.

Bloke at work has been having some difficulties for some time with his hearing. He has been to have it all tested and the conclusion was that he couldn't clearly decipher  tones in the higher register i.e wimmin's voices .

He has been given a hearing aid but he refuses to use it at work or at home. He maintains he is perfectly happy with the situation now he has an understanding of what the problem is and to email him if we need to discuss anything  lol:
