Never used to bother my late FiL ~ he just trampled old ladies, children etc underfoot and bagged a seat..... much to the embarrassment of his daughter  lol:

Plane boarding always seems to take an age - certainly the passengers can start boarding, then the bags turn up and we will have the plane fully loaded long before the last passenger has finally sat down. If only we could throw the passengers into the plane too...

The main delay in boarding is caused by the bloody people who clamber up the steps, find their seats, double check all adjacent seat numbers to make sure they have indeed found the right one, look to see who else is sitting near them, start negotiating for a window seat and then stand in the aisle taking off coats, cardigans etc, raking through their handbags for sweets, stowing stuff in the overhead lockers and still won't fecking sit down!

You don't need research to tell you that ~ just stand in the cabin doorway and watch any flight boarding.
