Whats a good un then?  rubschin:
Got to be easy to use, under a hundred snotters hopefully, no fancy pants features that I'll never use, nice big easy to use buttons that can actually be seen and understood without the use of a microscope, and obviously excellent piccy quailty that my existing one, that I suspect is goosed, hasn't really got , is a must.
All nicely in time for some spctacliar BIG fast silver burds piccies from me MONSTER 'ill expo next week.

No stoppid gormless comments...probably from Nick, sigh, ::)  regarding a Brownie box camera are requitred thank you.

Avinsome link will then beckon. cloud9:

A DIGITAL camera.   eeek:

Seriuosly, Mrs DS has one of these:

Despite my mickey-taking, it produces superb stills and video, even in her hands.

You could do worse, and BM will like the Amazon grace.  ;)
I mostly despair

I have one of these but they are now only available second hand http://www.dpreview.com/news/0308/03080703dimagez1.asp
They can be bought through Amazon second hand for under £100 (they were £500+ when new) BUT they are a bit complicated. I've had mine for 8 years and still have not used all the functions available on it.

Woodstock has one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kodak-Easyshare-C713-Digital-Camera/dp/B000X2BJDC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317565167&sr=8-1

Brilliant pocket sized camera that takes good piccies and doesn't eat batteries.

Top Tips: Buy rechargeable batteries and a charger ... Also no camera comes with a decent memory card, most will only hold about a dozen or so pictures ~ useless for a holiday unless you want to take a PC or Laptop and be forever downloading. .... Worth investing in a mega storage card. Both Mine and Woodstock's have a 256 MB card fitted.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Growler I have a version of one of these and highly recommend them.

I know it's just over a hundred quid but very simples to use and fantastic quality pics. Also really good zoom for your mountain pic shots

If it helps the 256 MB memory card holds about 200 pics and a couple of video clips
I tend to carry a spare card as well.
