We3lcome home Bear  cloud9:

What did ya bring us back like  ?  whistle:

Toblerone, light and dark...dark is the yumstiesyest like imo  cloud9:, and ginger bread bars with BEARS iced on them. cloud9:
Scoffed the rest of the nibbles...biccies, sweets, fruit dinks, apples, and cheese and hammy type stuff stuff , on me long journey 'ome yesterday. whistle:

Did I tell you that I do actually HATE Eindhoven now, 'cus I was verging on a panic attack trying to escape with no one to help me on the ,maps and directions.
They were uselass anyway, as was the Tom Tom, as all the roads are seemingly fairly new.
Tom was showing me in a land of fields mainly. eeek:
It's one scary place 'cus everywhere looks the same, and there are squillions of roads darting off all over the show, and the traffic and drivers show absolutely NO mercy whatsoever for strangers. noooo:

The disappointments were there waiting for me sadly, but all paled into insignificance by the sheer and almost unbelievale beauty of the country. eeek:
A total feast of sensory overload is the best way to describe Swizzyland. cloud9:
Pictures DO NOT do it justice. I nearly cried when I saw the immense and awesome Eiger for the very first time, 'specially after having only watched the filum 2 weeks ago.

I have welcomed you back on several threads so I won't do so again, bah....welcome back bear. xxx You are quite right about dark Toblerone BTW.
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

On my first ever visit there (1972) i met two lads prostrate in a park. They were knackered.  They  had won a holiday there from SKi Yoghurt. A cycling holiday happy002 happy002

The Swiss are a most pleasant race. Vitually everyone sez 'ello and smiles. eeek:
Vandalism litter and graffiti are virtually non exsistant, same as loutism and chav lad car driving dick ed yoofs. Not nob 'ed motorbike riders either.
On saying that, get it wrong on some of their roads, and you WILL die when you finally reach the ground.

The place is so tranquil and quiet you almost think yer on another planet! eeek:

BIG downside though are the prices of everything, bar fags and baccy whiich is a little cheaper than 'ere.
All I can assume is thet the wages must be quite high to reflect  the cost of living, which  is eye watering.

Of course, the main talking point was this:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4175944.stm

I was based in Myringain (sp) 15 miles away, and the river was like a boiling mass of angry extremely fast flowing debris.
Just managed to eascape the road from the airstrip back into town  as the walls and embankment of this 'boiling'  river were just beginning to be breached. eeek:
A truly scary sight.
Parts of Interlaken were quite badly effected, and whole swathes of rail lines were swept away, others left dangling in mid air. Sort of thing you only see on tv normally. eeek:

As a consequence, the airshow was cancelled, as they needed all the military they could muster to help clear up the mess.

Still, the Trift bridge experience was still to be experienced................ noooo:
Landslides high up in the mountains had swept away all access to it, and it'll be closed for months apparently. sad32:

Still, the helleek opter ride beckoned............. noooo:
Thursday was the only cloudy day (bar Monday morning) of the week, and the booked flight had to be cancelled due to low cloud.
They rang in the afternoon to say that cloud was sufficiently high now, and the booking they had for the afternoon flight had 1 spare space available on it.
My Geeeeerman friend asked if I'd like to go instead of 'im like, but being the kind thoughtful generous geezer what I am,   cloud9: i insisted he took it, lickle sweetie that I really am.  angel1
