Just had an email asking for a meter reading for the Kennle's leccy bill  ~ paperless billing ...... just a couple of clicks?

Not a chance ~ 19 minutes on the fecking phone to give them 5 simple digits  cussing:


How does this save the planet?
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Works for me ~ get e-mail request, log on, find account, enter digits, click ok, log off.

That is what I expected Uncle but first their site wouldn't let me log on with my user name and password. After three goes and my checking for typing errors it barred me and said "Contact Help Desk" ..... that is when things got a little heated!

"You are using the wrong user name"

"No ~ I know my own name"

"Well you must be spelling it wrong"(sic)

"No ~ I know how to spell a name I have had for nearly 65 years"

"Then you must be using the wrong password"

"No~ I have known my mother's maiden name for almost as long as I have known my own name"

and so we went on

Finally I said "OK I'll give you the names and you can try it"

"All right, I'm not supposed to but ...... "

So that is what we did ... he tried to register me (not log me in but register as in new customer) with the details I provided and guess what ....... "That user name is already in use please select another one"


"Yes I know because that is already in use by me so why can I not log in?"

Eventually they cancelled the account, gave me another number and I registered it with the original details ... It worked"
