And why have you morphed into Eric Blair?

I thought it was Lord Haw Haw

Nope it is deffo Eric Blair who preferred to be known as George Orwell for reasons that I know not ..... unless he foresaw that the name of Blair would, one day, be for evermore associated with the words That C*nt

By a stroke of good luck I have found another relly I didn't know about and they have got back even further. Info has now been exchanged (I had stuff they were looking for too) and I have now got a line back to ....................... 1160!!!!  eeek:

The new info includes the Lieutenant of a castle in Calais and several "Sirs" and "Ladys"

But it's OK you peasants can still call me Snoopy  lol:

I know this is boring to you all but forgive me .... I am excited by it.

Today I found no fewer than 6 ancestors who fought with Henry V at Agincourt .... from which two were knighted by the King.

Now that is the point of family history to me.

Anyone who thinks they may have had ancestors at Agincourt (on the English side) there is a fantastic bit of research done by the Universities of Southampton and Reading that lists all of the English side. They have, apparently, culled the information from the paylists maintained by the King's servants to ensure that wages were accounted for. You can search by name, rank etc.

There is a book in this .... and I have already started writing it. Prolly take me years but the beauty of it is that it will be a never ending story that my children/grandchildren etc will be able to carry on with.

Members of my family were involved in this.

Stirring stuff.  There is. I hear on the news tonight an encampment starting outside Sheffield cathedral. If my ancestors could do it then maybe I should. This from a 51 year old woman who has been a Tory for her lifetime. noooo:

My pink sis and I realised today that we know nothing of the paternal line beyond our grandfather. The maternal side is a different matter.
