I have finally reached about as far back as I am likely to get.
I have just discovered that an ancestor owned a large house in East Meon. It seems he was liable for "Hearth Tax" on 4 hearths and had 100 acres of land (also taxable)
I wonder if I claim my inheritance what the bloody Inland Revenue will want in terms of interest.
Oh and to aid the calculation he lived there in 1470.
