Family Tree
« on: October 30, 2011, 11:24:16 AM »
I have finally reached about as far back as I am likely to get.
I have just discovered that an ancestor owned a large house in East Meon. It seems he was liable for "Hearth Tax" on 4 hearths and had 100 acres of land (also taxable)

I wonder if I claim my inheritance what the bloody Inland Revenue will want in terms of interest.  eeek:

Oh and to aid the calculation he lived there in 1470.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

By a stroke of good luck I have found another relly I didn't know about and they have got back even further. Info has now been exchanged (I had stuff they were looking for too) and I have now got a line back to ....................... 1160!!!!  eeek:

The new info includes the Lieutenant of a castle in Calais and several "Sirs" and "Ladys"

But it's OK you peasants can still call me Snoopy  lol:
