Choosing yer lunch in advance
« on: November 04, 2011, 03:47:37 PM »
We have organised a "works" Christmas Lunch for December 8th in London. It appears I have to select my choice of food by tomorrow night evil:

How do I know what I will feel like for lunch on December 8th? And how will I remember what I ordered? Shrugs:

Always difficult but it is helpful for the kitchen.

I know that but the fact remains that to cook a different option for each member of a pre-booked party takes time and if they have to wait for you to get there and order you will have to wait ... this leads to complaints from customers so they ask you to pre-order.

You could go to a restaurant that does faster food but you are unlikely to get anything other than pre-cooked food that they have had delivered ready made and they have microwaved back to life.

Somewhere like AWT's place will be able to accommodate you but you will not get Christmas lunch type food. Steaks etc are what can be prep'ed and cooked to order. A roast, which is what most Christmas Party diners are seeking, takes time.

Think about it for a minute. How long does it take to roast a turkey?  Banghead

If they are playing music in there it'll be so that the punters can't hear the "PING" of the microwave ovens.  whistle:

Stop moaning.

We also had to do the same this week....choose our selection from the menu .....where we are going for Christmas works do.

Perfectly reasonable as far as I'm concerned but there will be 30 odd of us.

What's difficult about choosing food you know you like the sound of  noooo:
