My bank ( Natwest) sent prior notification that they were doing some major upgrade on the systems last night to their ATM's and online banking systems etc ...but all should be fixed by 6 am this morning. They have probably built in some contingency time into that you would have imagined  rubschin:

Not enough it seems  noooo: noooo: noooo:

Can't access on- line banking and can't get money out at ATM's yet ..... Banghead

Time to use the credit card then  evil:

Having a penchant for the odd conspiracy theory I'm inclined to think that this tactic might be ominous   rubschin:

Awake as I was in the small hours listening to some esoteric stuff on the World Service I heard an interview with a German Banker who was recalling the time of the Lehmans debacle.  He happened to drop into the conversation a scenario where the banks might have to shut their doors ... think of Northern Rock ... no withdrawals, no cash. Accordingly he'd squirrelled away 000's of Euros into the office safe  eeek:
