Remote Controls
« on: November 20, 2011, 09:37:01 AM »
Are these a supplementary tool to aid the use of, and functionality of, a piece of equipment? Or are they a fundamental part ? As in you cannot operate the equipment without the use of the remote control !!!

Surely all devices should be able to operate at least their primary functions without the use of a zapper ???

However it appears not  noooo:

Immediate design flaw there I would suggest

Only men know how to use remote controls ~ that's why we always take possession of them.

What have you gubbed?

The fair laydee is referring to me....  redface:

When I cleared my stepfather's house I brought his VHS to DVD recorder back with me....

However, I managed to leave the remote control - I think I chucked it out....  redface:

So, I thought I'd have a go at copying some old tapes... how complex can it be...? Shrugs:

Connect it up to the telly and get a picture!

Firstly, it will only record on DVD+R discs so off to the shop to buy some as I only have DVD-R

Then press the 'one button copy' button and 'hey presto it copies the VHS tape to the DVD....

But you can't actually play the fecking DVD until you go into the setup menu and 'close' it!  cussing:

And of course the 'setup' button isn't on the front of the machine - it is only on the remote...  Banghead

Seventeen quid for a remote control!  evil:

Soooooooooooooo True!

As for BM and his remote control problems ... I would have expected a man of his calibre to have got one of the "werks everything" remotes like what I have.  whistle:

Only BM would have a flash looking remote control larger than the minema itself.  lol:

If you haven't already bought the remote and depending on what kind of phone you have there are some remote control apps that can work as a cheaper alternative. I've used a couple of them in the past for practical jokes.
