What do you mean you forgot about it?
« on: August 06, 2007, 02:51:55 PM »
We've all forgotten things, house keys, phone, not to let Nick near the microwave. But you are trying to tell me that you forgot about a dead body in the street. Now call me a cynic but seeing as you were told about it while you were on the way to an incident then surely that would have given you the chance to radio it in before you arrived? Or had you decided that it was just some kind of environmentally friendly speed bump?

Quote
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has issued an apology after two of its officers forgot to report that a body had been found in the street.
Anthony Hughes, 58, who had died of natural causes, lay near Gorton market for about four hours before emergency services turned up in October 2006.

The officers had been on their way to a firearms incident.

The two officers have been issued with formal warnings as a result of a police internal investigation.

A police spokesman said there had been an internal investigation, adding: "GMP would like to apologise to the deceased's family for any distress this may have caused."

At the inquest into Mr Hughes's death, Manchester coroner Nigel Meadows said: "At the time you heard about the body it was unknown to you if that person was dead or alive, or impossible for you to know if you could have administered first aid."

Recording a verdict of death from natural causes, Mr Meadows said: "The officers involved could not have been more apologetic and regretful."
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

What could have happened:

Incident Reported 10.05am - Man unconcious in street.

Police Arrive 10.15am - Man dies of shock at quick response.

Emergency Services Arrive 2.15pm - Man vows to haunt two little piggies.

Another example of men failing to multi task.  You can't report a dead body and be on the way to a firearms incident at the same time - honestly the unrealistic expectations of modern society these days.

(Hi ya to those that know me and especially to those that don't )

I concur. Can we pop her in the POwder Room?

(I have met her. Scary is too mild. If you saw her in a cinema she would be an X, and even then you'd have to have your Mum with you to hold her hand over your eyes in the bad bits scared2:)

No nightmares now!

Nick - I have only been here 5 minutes and you are already tarnishing my non existent reputation.

Don't blame it on sleep deprivation either.  I am a nice girl - except when I'm not.

Alright, here goes then...

I'm against smiting, I would give you the clap but that in effect would be smiting if you wanted negative Karma...  whacky115

Mr H (if I may be that familiar with you)

I am female - therefore whatever you do will be wrong.

To smite or not to smite that is not the question - what colour is the smite now that really can be an issue.

As for giving me the clap or negative Karma - I appreciate your concern.   In return for your kindness I won't give you the chop or a backwards slice.   Is that fair ?

More so than checking if your arse looks big in the smite?

Ok Mr H - no touching  - my hands are very safely evident above the water line :-)

As for big arses I thought they were very much in vogue these days - after all you see so many of them on the news each day.
