On This Day
« on: December 03, 2011, 05:03:40 PM »
Next Tuesday would have been my parents 70th wedding anniversary, and no, obviously they didn't make it. Checking the date I was wondering what was happening on the day they got married.  eeek:
We, the UK decided to declare war on Finland in support of the Ruskies. Looking at the Allies vs. Axis map that December things must have been grim to say the least. In spite of having "won" the Battle of Britain the previous year the whole of Europe was under the Nazi thumb and within a couple of days the Japs decided to bomb Pearl Harbour.

I wonder what sort of future they anticipated on their wedding day?   noooo:

Last year. Helping neighbour get food to sheep on remote pasture in deep snow. Bitterly cold.

He has since bought himself a proper quad like mine.  ::)
