Any free registry cleaner recommendations?
« on: December 06, 2011, 09:18:30 AM »
This heap of junk has suddenly got horrendously slow over the last 24 hours, normally after it's been turned on for more than 45 minutes. Can take up to two minutes to load most if not all  sites now ffs. Banghead

I've been led to believe that the registry gubbins thingy wotsit whatever is possibly overloaded with half baked half installed, , incorrectly loaded and half deleted programmes, random files that aren't used anymore, old virus's etc etc., and eventually it gets all overloaded and gunged and makes it go all slow, yes? Shrugs:

I need a registry cleaner apparently. Is this so?
Not fussed on paying for one when there are apparently freebie ones out there that'll remove some of this crap, so a recommendation of a good un would be most appreciated.

A standard coconut is on offer as a reward for the most helpful personage.

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner angel1

But is it free though?
Most of these things I've tried in the past say'free download' blah blah blah, so you do it/install it, and then it scans and tells you they've found 5 megasquillion faults and will fix 3 of them for you for free, but if you want the rest doing, that'll be a thousand pounds please. Banghead
Can't remove most of this newly installed shite then either. cussing:

Anyway. Back to this thing/machine.

Do you think I've done ok, meaning that it's now nearly eight years old (Dell) and still seemingly mechanically running ok.
I thought 'puters were ususally supposed to go tits up after about 5-6 years? rubschin:
