Any free registry cleaner recommendations?

Do you think I've done ok, meaning that it's now nearly eight years old (Dell) and still seemingly mechanically running ok.
I thought 'puters were ususally supposed to go tits up after about 5-6 years?

The hardware should go on forever...

What generally happens is that all the Windows Update shite slows them down until they become unusable....

So theoretically you are more vulnerable if you don't update....

I was refering more to the actual mechanical capabilities and reliabilty/longevity of the internal mechanical giblety type stuff that actually makes the whole thing werk rather than the Windows shite.

I only installed this OFFICIAL XP version late last year to replace the 'dodgy' <cough> copy/aquired one <cough> and am quite comfy with it tbh.

I also did ao hells 'one click fix' thing this morning too, which involved re-installing aol and its associated gubbins. Had to restart and type in all me passwerds again, and me favourites toolbar needs re-installing now too.
Everything seems to be werkin' at normal speed again now though.

The fan does get a bit 'racy' when ...WHEN...it gets warm, yes.
Not done it too often this year though tbh

I've 'oovered all the fluff out from inside the tower a few times, and that helps a bit like.

Run chkdsk...?

Disk cleanup will remove all the owld shite on the disk but if you have loadsaspace then it prolly isn't necessary....
