Well, I've done it again. I called into the local PO and bought the Road Tax. Every time I do this I'm reminded what a fiddling, piddling job it is to remove the disc from its perforations. I think I must have tried every trick in the book; tearing it quickly which usually results in a torn disc, tearing it slowly - perforation by perforation which is too much for anyone's patience, tearing it in one direction and then the other - torn disc again
It seems to have been produced like this since 1938
with a break of ten years ('42 - '52), reason unknown.
http://www.britishtaxdiscs.co.uk/tax-disc-history.phpIn the last 73 years practically every aspect of communication has changed beyond recognition and yet vehicle owners are still required to tear off a
lickle piece of paper (poorly) and fix it to their windscreen. There must be a better, simpler way to do this and get rid of the effing perforations
