Whats a hive file missing from the registry ?  Banghead

I am meant to be working at home today but my work laptop keeps looping back to this and won't start.

I may have to go into the office at this rate ?  sad24:

Ooooooo That's bad!

Hive File is where all the bizzy likkle bees live and they have to carry all the pixels around 'cos pixels can't fly.

No hive file = no bizzy bees = No pooter workee.

On versions of Windows that support the latest format, the following hives still use the standard format: HKEY_CURRENT_USER, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SAM, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security, and HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT; all other hives use the latest format.

Most of the supporting files for the hives are in the %SystemRoot%\System32\Config directory. These files are updated each time a user logs on. The file name extensions of the files in these directories, or in some cases a lack of an extension, indicate the type of data they contain. The following table lists these extensions along with a description of the data in the file.

Frankly I preferred my explanation but if I were Miss D and looking to avoid going into the office I'd try restoring to a previous date when the bloody thing was there.

Exacly BM - can't do nuffink with it in terms of tinkering.

Our I.T  support is based in feckin Poland  Banghead

I have logged a call  noooo:

I may need to get dressed and go into work  sad32:

Why was it werking perfectly fine Friday night, logged off properly etc , come Monday morning when it hasn't been touched all weekend it comes up with this absolute load of nonsense  cussing:
