SMS reminders
« on: February 07, 2012, 05:20:33 PM »
If I make an appointment it goes in the diary. Sometimes it gets copied on to iCal, but the long and the short of it is that I know, and keep it. If, for some reason I'm unable to make it I let them know in advance. Perhaps I'm turning out to be a collateral hit targeted at those who can't be @rsed to keep their appointments and this is the reason for the SMS Reminder.
I get them from the Doc, the Dentist and now, today, another "agency" wants my mobile number to send a reminder ...  evil:
I know, I know, I should have said that I don't possess a mobile phone  noooo:

Where's it going to end? SMS reminders from everyone you deal with ... ?

"This is a reminder from your wife that you have an appointment with her of a sexual nature at 10:30pm tomorrow. Please call or text back if you unable to make it"   eeek:
Like the Buddhist said to the hot dog vendor...
"Make me one with everything"

Agreed ~ Most irksome!

I get them all the time ~ the Dentist tells me it is to try to cut down on missed appointments that cost money.

Best to date went as follows.

"Message to Mr Snoopy - You have a dental appointment tomorrow at 3.15"

So I rang them and said "No I don't, I was only there last week"

Receptionist "We have you down for tomorrow at 3.15 ...... This is Mr Snoopy Minimus isn't it?"

Me: "No, he's my son"

Receptionist "Oh well I can't discuss it with you because of data protection, can I speak to him?"

Me: "But he is only ten!"

Receptionist: "It's still the LAW"

Me "Fvck off"
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Anyone want to place a bet on how long it will be before Nick and BM start sending spoof ones now...  rubschin:
