Flicking through Rock and Roll Hall of Fame videos found these ones of Nirvana with some different lead vocalists...
Smells Like Teen Spirit, Joan Jett - I admit I've enjoyed listening to her stuff for years now and vocally she has that rough and dirty sound that this song needs.
http://youtu.be/y5uHsJdqzK8Lithium, Annie Clark - Not really heard much of her stuff but other than sounding too clean she does a really good job of this track.
http://youtu.be/l4xLcXiepYoAneurysm, Kim Gordon - This one won't be to everyone's taste but its clearly the one most true to Kurt.
http://youtu.be/6dWyssLVyKYAll Apologies, Lorde - I think she would have been better off chosing a song with a more comfortable range. Sounds like she is forcing herself to sing that low.
https://youtu.be/bNYnYttDzto20 years on and Dave Grohl is still able to beat the hell out of the drums with the same power and passion he had back then.
It must have seemed really strange for Dave, Krist and Pat, belting out the intros for the songs and then having someone else start to sing.
