Wedding Anniverseries
« on: April 05, 2012, 08:34:57 AM »

Now I can fully understand why two people who have chosen to love each other to death or ( until someone else pulls them apart ) celebrate the day of their nuptials on a annual basis.

But why , oh  why , oh why  should everyone else be expected to send cards and stuff.

If it is a special one , like a 10, 20, 25 and 50 then I can see the merits of acknowledging their accomplishment  - but do that with a party or a meal or something I can enjoy too  redface:

Woodstock and I agreed from the day we married that wedding anniversaries would not be a matter for gift giving or receiving, sending each other cards and the like. We spread the word to all family and friends who respected our wishes with one exception. We have been together for 26 years now and still her mother sends us a card. Banghead

Oh and the reason we made the decision was and still is that we have both been married before and agreed that all that lovey dovey for life stuff was actually bollox that we had heard before and it proved to be lies. We got married because we wanted to and we are still married because we want to be. If either one ever feels they don't want it to carry on then they can just walk away. I doubt that any of our children could tell you when our anniversary is. Odd to some but we are happy with it this way.

PS we married on 22nd June 1988 but lived together since October 1986

Not that Mr C and I are married but we too don't do the lovey dovey stuff.
