The other day Barley had lunch with a friend. Also present was a female acquaintance of the friend, who is a vet by profession. Apparently this woman had recently been treating a sick African grey parrot. As the bird was not at all well she had kept it in the surgery for continued treatment and taken it to her home each evening in its cage so she could keep an eye on it. For a couple of days the bird had remained huddled on its perch, not venturing out when she opened the cage door each morning as was its normal routine. Neither did it make any sound, despite being said to be a good talker. Then one morning it suddenly showed signs of being much brighter, moving around inside its cage and eating again. This time when she opened the cage door, the bird hopped quickly outside and immediately launched itself into the air, flying straight into her french windows and falling stunned to the floor. She picked it up and placed it gently back on top of its cage where it stood for a few moments looking distinctly dazed, before shaking itself vigorously and uttering its first words. Appropriately enough, these were “FUCKIN’ ‘ELL”!
so excited!! going to pick up a new cage for the cockatiel. It's mahoosive! I actually fit inside it! Going to be wonderful to watch her flying around rather than having to just sit on a perch all day. new cageold cage 6ft high. Still no idea where the F its gonna go like. I think we have to get rid of one of the arm chairs.
