The smell of fresh mown grass.  cloud9:

But not after five weeks of growth cos of all the rain and it was never dry enough to cut. It was a jungle out there   noooo:

I'm sweating like a stuck pig Barman  whistle:

Poor you! happy100

Full agreement on the smell of cut grass tho - as long as some other poor bastard is cutting it....  Thumbs:

Betterer still - the smell of a field of hay a day or so after cutting - pure nostalgia and heaven!
"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Well, someone had to say it!

Oh how things can change in the blink of an eye.  Sheffield is in a huge dip surrounded by seven hills. Now that the steel industry has mostly gone it is much cleaner than it was. This hospital is at the bottom of the dip and for the last three days if has been foggy outside. This is a combination of pollution and low lying cloud. The ward I am in is about 4 storeys up so whilst the view is spectacular you cannot open the window. ::)

Yesterday afternoon Mr C dumped me in a wheelchair and took me outside. I sat on a wooden bench covered in graffiti the floor was littered with rubbish and fag ends. Despite all of that it was wonderful. cloud9:
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

"The Seven Hills of Sheffield" sounds very poetic, but not Rome alas.

Get well soon

Gaffa tape. Is there nothing it can't fix? And the delicious way it tears. £2.95 for a roll of pure heaven.

As the thread title suggests, it's the simplest things.

I got a phone call off my eldest earlier on, "dad, my wedding photos are ready, the photographer said I hope you don't mind, I'm using some on my website gallery"

First one I saw stopped me in my tracks.... my little grandson  cloud9:
