Both boys have walked him round the kennel field .... he pulls a bit but they can cope with that and at 7 months it should be easy enough to train that out of him. He will sit on command and returns when let off the lead. It seems that when you call him back that he is not going to but he is ackchooly looking for something to bring back as a present .... Stick, ball ... whatever he can find. Tends to jump up at first but a firm "NO!" and he sits down.
Training should not be a problem as he seems a very biddable pooch, eager to please but very unhappy about being kennelled. Previous owners got him last Christmas but were both at work all day so he got a bit destructive in their absence ~ hardly surprising for a puppy. I am at home every day so he will be good company for me and hopefully will enjoy having someone with him all the time. They tell us that he doesn't get car sick and seems to enjoy going out in the car.
Not yet neutered but the kennels are making arrangements for that to be done in about three weeks time. Micro chipped of course and we have passed the "Home Inspection".
I tell you, taking on a rescued dog is no longer an easy or cheap option but a KC registered pure bred for £125 seems a bargain. The £125 includes the neutering, 2 days supply of food, collar, de-fleaing, full vet check and the blanket he is used to.
