For sale one VW Golf, one careless owner.  €2 or near offer

AFFS....  whistle:

 rubschin:       noooo:

I bet it's really easy to get VW spares near that track.  Front wheel drive, inexperienced drivers going for it, grass near the track =  a crash a week if not a day.
Well, whatever, nevermind

Why do they do it without some training beforehand?  Years ago I did one of those racing experience days at Brands Hatch.  A good day and they said I was OK but I learnt very quickly that it's far more difficult than it looks to get the most out of a car.

One of the best bits was the debrief after the first run in a hot hatch. The guy says to me " you can't really heel and toe can you" (and I can't) so he says just bang it in and let the clutch up then and I says "it'll life the clutch" and he says "not your clutch, don't worry about it".
Well, whatever, nevermind

I used to do lots of track days on my GSXR750. Ride to the circuit,  take the mirrors and number plate off, tape up the lights and off you go. Fabulous.

That's what made it funny...... eveilgrin:  most thought they were Nigel Mansell (that era).....

It was better than watching the real racing...and like you say if you want to drive flat-out do a track day with them not in your own car..... noooo:

I don't think I'd do a 53.6 lap of Brands Hatch Indy circuit on that though

Yup, 1998 Suzuki GSX-R750, with Pirelli Diablo Corsa tyres. I was running 54.5 second laps all day and I couldn't get the hang of Graham Hill bend, which was slowing me a lot. Finally got it right on my last session. The tyres were pretty shagged though  ;D

My 2004 GSX-R750 was lighter and more powerful but I never really trusted it as much - it was "twitchy" and I never went below 55 seconds on it. I was faster on it at Snetterton though.

They were great days but knackering - the ride to Snetterton aout 130 miles, all day track session, then 130 miles home again.  surrender:

I bet you did Graham Hill bend better than I did, did I mention I can't heel and toe

Whenever I go to Brands always try to make sure I have a good view of that bend, there's always action there, I'm old enough to remember seeing Jim Clark total his Lotus at that bend
Well, whatever, nevermind
