Moyes gave it a go, but he was always a 'journey man'. Worked well with Everton on a small budget, however that does not make you able to take over a club that demands silverware rather than just staying up in the same division.
He inherited a bunch of old players, no big investments over the last few years in the way Fergie had spent money in the past. I take my hat off to Fergie in what he achieved in his managing career.....but never liked him and would not trust him.
If only the court case with JP McManus and John Mangier had not been settled out of court regarding Rock of Gibraltar, we might have heard about other things going on in the club regarding share deals or his son being 'a football agent' and where he got his contacts from etc..
It does keep old blue nose on a pedestal as a great manager, I wonder why Moyes was recommended by him?
