Don't know too much about it like, but have you's two's considered those solar panel things, you know, with all that sunshine you's are constantly waving yer willies about over? ![rubschin:](https://www.virtual-pub.com/SMF/Smileys/default/cbs_zz.gif)
That's what heats our water ...........
it's the bloody air-con .........
As said up there knobby^^^ I don't profess to know much about the subject. ![::)](https://www.virtual-pub.com/SMF/Smileys/default/icon_rolleyes.gif)
Why doesn't it feed all yer leccy requrements? Is that not possible 'cus the air con takes up too much power or summat? ![Shrugs:](https://www.virtual-pub.com/SMF/Smileys/default/confused013.gif)
Mostly air conditioning (with guests here this year

) and the pool pump....
We use solar panels to heat our water like apc...
For the air con tho you'd need loads of photovoltaic cells to collect the sun and turn it into lektrik - then you need to store it in batteries until night time... Then you need an inverter to convert the DC from the batteries into AC to run the air con units....
The costs are huge and you need large areas of (south facing) roof or patio to put the panels on.... and they don't last very long...
With hindsight we should have had a solar pool pump installed years ago.... It uses some small solar panels to drive a DC pump during the day when you need it - no complex conversion to AC and no expensive battery storage.
