My old dad, like his father before him, had very firm ideas about who one could and could not trust.
His list of those not to trust was:
Politicians (of every hue)
Ministers of Religion (of every hue)
Solicitors
School Teachers
Used Car Salesmen
Policemen
Scoutmasters
Bank Managers
Bookmakers
In the old boy's opinion all the above were after either your money or your arse and none of them would know the truth if it bit them.
TBH I have seen little in my life to prove that he was wrong in any respect.
