Quote from: Grumpmeister on October 29, 2021, 11:10:09 PMIt's an aside and arguably in the wrong thread but I've just finished Harrier 809 by Roland White. It's the story of how they turned the Atlantic Conveyor into a harrier carrier for the Falklands War and their exploits on station. Even more boys own stuff and well worth getting if you enjoyed Vulcan 607. Cool! In return I'd recommend Sea Harrier Over The Falklands by 'Sharky' Ward... He has an interesting take on the Vulcan raid too...

You can tell it's been done at home which makes it sound more geniune than a professional studio version. An old aviator telling stories of his exploits.

Almost finished it now but bloody hell, he isn't holding back when it comes to his opinion of the RAF and senior RN officers screwing over the Fleet Air Arm. The worst of it is that every point he has made makes perfect sense and ultimately explains why the harriers were sold off to America.
