2012 Review Highs and Lows
« on: December 01, 2012, 08:42:43 AM »
Looking forward to the New Years Eve review, what should we put on the list for this Year's high, but more likely to be low, light of the year.

For me, the best sort of English man winning the Tour De France, Bradley Wiggins.

Generally speaking I rarely support the English doing anything but I'm making an exception as (until proved otherwise of course) he seems to be quietly considerate but has an opinion and shares it.
It's better than I ever even knew.  They say that the world was built for two.  Only worth living if somebody is loving you.  Baby now you do.

The High - The Olympics, I thought it would be an embarrassment to the UK, it was absolutely brilliant from start to finish

The lows - the House of Commons, PMQ's, MP's. (Summed up nicely by the start of a rant in an e-mail I recently recieived)

Quote
To David Cameron (Prime Minister) & Ed Milliband (Leader of the Opposition) ...

You BOTH Worry me! ( In fact both of your Political parties worry the hell out of me )

Over the last three years, I find myself becoming more and more fearful of the pair of you, and between you, you are turning this country into a place that I no longer feel at home in, or feel a part of! I watch you in parliament, and no, not just the two of you, but every politician that I see, stand up in parliament sneering at each other, and acting like children (..and if you were my children, I would be ashamed of you all ... What an example to set!)

Although you would like us all to believe that you are putting the needs of this country at the forefront, NEITHER of you are doing that, you seem more interested in "one-up-manship ", in scoring off each other, & denigrating each other, to the detriment of this country & its people.
It seems to be all about YOU as individuals, and not about what you can DO for this country.
It is fast becoming a place that I do not recognize, as the place I always thought, was the best place in the world to be.

But no longer!

You are not listening to the people of this country.
And here in Great Britain , your counterparts are afflicted with the same disease - is it endemic in all politicians............

High = Being told in October, after three operations and mucho chemo, that they had got the tumours out
Low = Woodstock breaking her arm and shoulder four weeks ago
Lowest = Being told by GP on Monday last that peeing blood may mean that the bladder cancer has spread to my kidneys ~ Tests all week at hosp and more tests and scans this coming week.

Cried when I told Lil Bruvver who instantly offered me one of his kidneys.
Laughed when he said "And you know they have been preserved in alcohol for the past 40 years" ...... First time he has ever admitted to being an alcoholic.

Always cheers me up ~ chatting with you lot ..... Unfortunately what with all the toing and froing hospital wise this past couple of weeks I am now so far behind I shall be spending today and tomorrow bashing the keyboard to catch up with the magazine deadline so may not have a lot of time in here.
See also washing, ironing etc.  ::)
