We get a lot of spam or robotic access to the board and an increasing number of spam 'registrations'...

I don't know how the damn things manage to get through but they always seem to work it out in the end...

Right now we have 22 'guests' on the site, some trying to register...

The bottom line is that they all use up some of our server performance and I want to cut them out...

I'm going to try loading some new software which should stop the registrations and the browsing....  scared2:

I think the idea is that they sign up as members and then post loadsa topics all featuring links to Viagra sites and suchlike....

You want one of them add-ons that asks you to enter an almost unreadable set of letters/numbers before you can continue.

The principle is that screen scraping software combined with OCR cannot interpret them to continue with the registration..

These fucking bots have nothing better to do than keep trying though....  noooo:

The new software we are going to try takes a much, MUCH more sophisticated approach....  whistle:
