Getting very seriously pissed completely off with this whole scenario now. Banghead

The car is still in bits in my 'mates' garage.
I pleaded with him to have it back for last Friday.
Needless to say.......... Banghead

Getting loads of grief....justifiably for once i feel.....off Mrs G with regard to the time it's all taking.
So, I went in to see him today.
He and his mother are both very prickly characters to deal with, but having known him for so long (his workmanship IS actually 1 st class...when he actually gets around to doing it  ::) ) I didn't want to go in there with all guns blazing, but i did show my concern that this has now been going on for nearly 4 weeks.
He claims that fitting the new chassis leg is proving very difficult, and he keeps getting bombarded by mot requests, but he 'hopes' to get the job completed this week....like last week...and the week before. Banghead

In a nut shell, I'm stuffed, and entirely in his hands now.
The more I complain I feel, the slower he's going to go.
The car's in bits, so it's not even as though I can say "stuff you, I'll take it somewhere else even.
He'd just shrug his shoulders and say " help yourself then". I know what he's like.

WTF am I going to do. Shrugs:.

GROWLER TOP TIP...NEVER use someone you are chummy with to fix your car, as they'll always think that you won't kick off and go as slow as they want.

He's ruthless, and knows some 'boys'. scared2:
Absolutely NOWT phases him, and he's pretty 'handy' too if you get me drift.
Hands like meat cleavers. eeek:

Simple for him anyway.
No pay, no car. whistle:

Almost wish I'd never met him now tbqh, but as I said, his workmanship is very good...eventually.

Frustrating...

But, like MeMi you know it will be worth the wait and it will look perfect in the end...

Problem is that craftsmen are few and far between and overloaded with work... No doubt he has 'urgent' jobs arriving every day that are willing to pay a premium to jump the queue.

My guy did fantastic work but he had 'Z Plates' (hire cars) coming in every day that tourists had bashed up and the rental companies could afford to pay €€€€€€s to get them back on the road PDQ - hence MeMi sat in the dust waiting patiently...

...and so yet another week rolls by, and the car is still in there, in bits. eeek:

Spoke to his firey mother, she who should actually own a broom.

He wasn't there, and I gently  asked, fully aware of her short temper (which is presumably where he gets it from) had he actually done any work on the car since my last visit 3 days ago, during which i was told by your son that he'd endeavour to have it sorted this week.

She just turned on me like a friggin rotweiller and snarled..."I don't keep tabs on what he's doing you know" cussing:
She turned away from me, walked into her office and slammed the door in her temper, leaving me standing there with my arms and gob open wide in disbelief at her retort. Shrugs:

Trouble is, I'm entirely in his hands now, and if he wants to play the cnut with me, he knows I'm stuffed, can't physically move it, and can quite literaly take months if he so wishes. eeek:

They are now closed until next wednesday, so week 6 will be beckoning.
