Mr dodgy mot man rang me again yesterday to tell me he's received my invoice copies what I've paid, thanked me for the sae and complimented me on the quality of the envelope!! lol:
He also wants to pay for all the parts that I'd told him I'd pay for, as I'd have had to pay for them anyway, but he insisted eeek:

He's going to ring me again on Monday to make sure I've received the c/q., and then he's going to drag the guy that alledgedly mot'd MoMo, and the guy that sold me the car into his office for 'further discussions' as he doesn't want this sort of grief ever again due to the fact that as he rightly says, it's taken me decades to build this family business up, but things like this can destroy it in a blink of an eye.

Got to give the guy some credit here I feel.

He thanked me for being so lenient and understanding, as I could have gone to VOSA and possibly put him out of business
I retorted by stating that he'd dealt with a portentially damaging situtaion in a proffesional manner.

He is quite rightly extremely annoyed that this situation arose in the first place as he has to trust those that he employs, and he feels as though this trust has been abused in this case.

i actually feel a bit sorry for the guy tbh, but when I mentioned this to MM, she ranted that we could have died because of his company.

One of the main MOT stations where I used to live was a professional outfit ....but one of the testers was less than honest ....he offered me a few dial-a- mots ........

This is the scary thing about running your own business and having employees with whom you have to place your unreserved trust in to run the business in a proper and legal manner.

The owner here is quite rightly very concerned and upset which is probably why I feel a pang of sorrow for him tbh.

As they say "who guards the guards?"   In this case you did but it was the owner's job to.

A good result though and looks like the owner deserves repeat business.
Well, whatever, nevermind

Wery very true Steve, and with mot's, they have to be performed correctly as we are potentially talking about peoples lives here.
very difficult sometimes though, especially when the guy in question has been working for him for over 40 years!
You'd really think he'd be totally trustworthy and 100% reliable.
I could here the emotion in the owners voice.

ALMOST been a pleasure dealing with him. Typical old school values and attitude.
Such a shame he's seemingly been so badly let down by someone he really thought he could trust 100%.

Anyone that thinks Quality Control is all about handling customer complaints is not long for business, you have to be proactive.

I've never heard of Trading Standards, the Police or anyone in officialdom deliberately sending a dodgy car to see if a rogue tester will pass it.  Does it happen?
Well, whatever, nevermind

Dunno tbh? Shrugs:

Trading Standars certainly send cars in with known faults to be serviced ar main stealers though.
G jnr/snr used to werk for a Nissan main stealer, and he was caught out by them for not replacing a slightly torn rear windscreen wiper blade, and for not checking the tyre pressure on the spare wheel that was upsideown in the underneath wheel cradle.
Suspended for 6 weeks with no pay, and given a final written warning.

Told them to stick it, and now does the same job what i do's and has done for the last 13 years.
