Windows 8
« on: January 30, 2013, 01:16:13 PM »
Old PC was becoming unstable running Vista, so I thought I would give Winders 8 a try as it was on offer and I need to find out about it before anybody at werk or elsewhere gets it and starts asking me questions.

To say it is different is an understatement!

Let me guess, you've been making the recovery/backup copy on the memory stick.

I replaced my daughter's old laptop just before Christmas. Bought it from PC World and the salesboy tried to get me to sign up for their installation/setup service implying that people found it too difficult to do themselves.  ::)

Had no problem but doing that recovery copy process was the only thing that annoyed me. It took hours!

Different appearance but once I got using it I liked it. Daughter thinks it's great but then again it has that 'apps' feel about that she's more in tune with.

Had no problems installing the printer software that I though it might not like ~ being a pre 8 version.

I'm really loving my tablet...

It would be very easy to upgrade to Android on the desktop when it becomes available...  Thumbs:
