90 snotters
4x £5 e/w on todays biggy =£40

I've actually placed £3 E/W  with Fred in real life like, as he's paying out for the top 6 placings!

Just opened an online account with him, as he's apparently matching your bet up to £25, but in all the excitement and confusion, I seem to have missed out on that bit. sad32:
Found it quite difficult to navigate me way around the site initially tbh, and it was only after I'd placed the bets that i notied his matching stake wasn't showing. eeek:

Complete gubberation on my behalf it seems. cussing: Banghead

Talking of winnings. Me winnings still aren't showing on me new Bet Fred web site account. rubschin:
Is it usual for them to take so long to post them?

Edit. Sorted, but don't you get yer stake back on e/w bets, cus they haven't. evil:

I make it...
If you took the prices at time of placing the bet
Cappa Bleu 2nd at 12/1 £5 e/w (£10) you get back £20
Tea For Three 3rd at 10/1 £5 e/w (£10) you get back £17.50
Rare Bob 5th at 18/1 £5 e/w (£10) you get back £27.50
So, you placed £40, you walked out with £65 = £25 profit on the day

However, if you took starting prices, the only one that differed was Rare Bob which was 16/1 instead of 18/1. If that was the case, your profit for the day would have been £62.50, not £65.00

Baldy will be able to confirm whether my calculations are right or not

I'm not sure if your pot was £90 before these bets were placed, or after they were placed  confused:

Surely you get half your stake back? £5 on win lost ~ £5 on the place returned?

So THAT'S why my REAL pot with Bet Fred isn't as big as I was expecting then. ::)

Dodn't realise that. Thanks Fido.

Mustn't grumble though. Still got over 20 snotters more in me pocket than I did yesterday morning. cloud9:

Uncle has it right in terms of Bookies rules in Betting Shops but I have a feeling that On-line betting has changed the rules.

I have looked the the Bet Fred Rules but they do not make it clear.

Quote
3. Each-way Betting

Bets are settled to win unless ‘each-way’ is selected. An each-way bet is a bet of twice the selected unit stake. It contains one bet of unit stake on the selection to ‘win’ and one bet of unit stake on the selection to ‘place’ according to the terms advertised for the event.
In general, for UK horse and greyhound racing only, the ‘place’ part of each-way bets will be settled as per the following ‘place’ terms:
Handicaps – 16 or more runners one quarter the odds – first four places
Handicaps – 12-15 runners one quarter the odds – first three places
All other non-handicap races of 8 or more runners one fifth the odds – first three places
Races of 5, 6 or 7 runners – one quarter the odds – first two places
Less than 5 runners – the place money is invested to win
In all races the number of runners shall be the number of runners coming under starter's orders. Bets will not be accepted where the place stake exceeds the win stake.
Each-way doubles, trebles and accumulators will be settled ‘win to win’ and ‘place to place’ in accordance with the above.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

On another part of their site they say:

Quote
An each way single consists of two bets on one selection in one event. The first bet is on the selection to win and the second bet is on the selection to finish in the allotted placings i.e. second, third etc. The place terms will vary depending on the event and the place part of the bet is settled at the relevant place odds. For example, if the place terms for a race are the first three at a fifth of the odds and your selection finishes second or third, you will receive only a fifth of the full odds times your stake money as a return. A £1 each-way single has a total stake of £2.
