Water is bad for you...apparently.

Drinking water

While we are probably all familiar with the advice to drink eight glasses of water a day, more recent research has suggested that there is actually no scientific evidence supporting this recommendation and that drinking excessive amounts of water can actually be dangerous by lowering the concentration of salt in your blood.

Health-conscious water drinkers should also be wary of the trend for drinking bottled water, as studies have suggested that the chemicals (phthalates) from plastic bottles can leach into water and disrupt hormone levels.

This is just one of seven things that we thought was good for us but actually isn't...apparently, so the 'experts ' say. evil:

Wish they'd all go take a long walk off a short pier. Banghead

Is there actually anything that's good for you now that isn't actually bad for you too? eeek:

It is all made up bollox isn't it?  cussing:

This is a lie, five-a-day was a lie...

We are now told that there 'is no safe level of alcohol' while numerous scientific studies have shown its beneficial qualities...

We are now told that pregnant women should not drink alcohol' while numerous scientific studies have shown its beneficial qualities...

We are told that there is no safe level of smoking while this is patently untrue...

We are told that being fat will kill us while the actual evidence shows the contrary...

We are told that eating 'Fast Food' will kill us while that is patently untrue...

Salt, fizzy drinks cooked meat raw meat BBQs everything will either kill us or make us obese and then kill us...

Meanwhile: The life expectancy of the UK population is increasing by five hours a day

Utter, UTTER bollox!

The only right thing is to do what you enjoy and enjoy it while you can - the truth is that NOBODY has really bothered to find out what is good or bad for you...

More bollox for you then. ::)

Switching to low fat foods

When getting started in healthy eating, it is tempting to opt for low fat foods in order to help keep off excess pounds. However, cutting out 'good' fats such as omega-3 fatty acids could be detrimental to your health. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in oily fish, walnuts and flaxseeds, not only help to keep skin supple and wrinkle-free, they are also essential for good brain and heart health and can help prevent arthritis.

Just some thoughts:

Life is terminal - you WILL die, there is no cure so all else is just postponement

Do you REALLY want to live to a 'ripe' old age with failed eye/ear sight, crippled limbs, brain out to lunch?

Do you REALLY want to end your days in a "care home" (care?) doubly incontinent?

If you answer no to these questions, then why the hell bother taking any goddamned notice of what the quacks say. Just live life to the full and enjoy every day as if it were your last 'cos one day, it will be.

Wise words from "the Other Side" . . . . .

I operate on the "A little of what you fancy does you good" basis.

As for water ~ fish fvck in it so who wants to drink it anyway?
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

My old Mum made it to 102 before she "shuffled off this mortal coil"

Having seen the quality of life she had in her last years - no way José!

And she was still in her own home until the last three weeks!

'Nuff said!
